Planting this fall

Two Months Grape Hyacinth

Grape hyacinths (Muscari) are small, perennial spring-blooming bulbs known for their vibrant clusters of blue, purple, or occasionally white flowers. The blossoms resemble tiny clusters of grapes, which gives the plant its common name. These flowers are commonly used in gardens and borders, valued for their hardiness and ability to naturalize, quickly spreading to form colorful carpets in early spring.

Interesting fact: Despite their name and appearance, grape hyacinths are not true hyacinths and are not related to grapes. Their grape-like appearance is purely coincidental, and the flowers are actually part of the asparagus family (Asparagaceae)!
